Labeling Equipment Helped Me Save My Job
Thursday, August 19th, 2010I work as part of the marketing team for our company. One of my jobs was to improve the company’s brand design or logo if you must insist on simplicity. One day a memo came to my desk instructing me to make a new design for a new product that the company was about to launch in a week’s time. I was used to getting such orders from the top brass and like all the others that came before it; I did not read the instructions thoroughly.
After finishing the design, I e-mailed it to my boss who gave the approval. I thought the job was done. What I failed to read in the instruction was the part telling me to send it to the printing and label applicators Company who does our labels.
I let the memo sit on my desk for a few more days before I read it again. I went pale when I saw the instructions. I called the label company and asked if they can run the order that day but they refused citing the company’s three day advance order system. Good thing I asked for other companies who had labeling equipment and they gave me one they know. I almost lost my job that day.
