Selective Laser Sintering And Its Importance
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) is a stable form of rapid manufacturing. In this process, 3D objects are designed with the help of laser and sinter (heat and fuse). The first step to make any prototype object is its CAD design that will be designed in computer and after that it will be sliced into 2D format. These horizontal cross sections are building line by line and at the end, you will get the physical appearance of your objet.
There is a huge list of material that can be used to complete the process, if we talk about powdered materials, and then you can used Nylon11, Nylon12 and many others with different fillers such as glass, carbon fibers and many other materials to enhance the physical properties of the objects. Rather than powdered material, you can also use metals like steel, Cobalt and other stainless steel objects.
The beauty and physical properties of the objects is completely depends upon the type of material and the object properties are really like the traditional manufacturing methods. In the beginning Selective Laser Sintering is only used to make the early parts of the design but now with the enhancement in the technology, the end parts of the objects are also designed by SLS prototyping.
Selective Laser Sintering Use
The selective laser sintering prototype is used in the following industries, Aerospace, car manufacturing, designing commercial products, and industrial tools and in medical. In medical wide range of surgical tools are designed through this technology.
